Tree Cutting Needed For Pump Station and Green Space
Water/Sewer Superintendent Courtney Tetrault comments:
The tree removal behind we are doing behind the Community Church is to prepare for the upcoming sewer upgrades. That area will house our new pump station, which will allow us to abandon the current line in the steep bank above the river adjacent to the North Bend Street cemetery. The town purchased 1.04 acres from the Community Church to house this pump station and expand our park near the pond. Due to the new infrastructure’s location, the contractor will do significant grading in that area. While clearing for that, we removed some dangerous and unsafe trees. The new area should have more green space with some wooded area, and I’m hoping to add more trees back after our project is complete.
