Holy Week Services – Harkness and Keeseville United Methodist Churches
After celebrating the return to in-person worship on Palm Sunday, the Harkness and Keeseville United Methodist Churches plan to continue with Holy Week observances, a mix of online and in-person offerings.
On Thursday, April 1, Pastor Bekah Solar will present an online Maundy Thursday service. It will be posted at 6 pm on the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
On Good Friday, April 2, the Keeseville UMC sanctuary (1699 Front Street) will be open from Noon to 1 pm for silent meditation. Written prayer materials will be available for individual use. There will also be an online Good Friday presentation at 6 pm on the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
On Easter Sunday, April 4 there will be a Sunrise Service at 6:15 am on the top of Hallock Hill at the end of Lakeview Meadows Road; all are welcome. There will be no Breakfast or 9 am worship in Harkness that day. Keeseville UMC will celebrate an 11 am Easter Service of Resurrection in the sanctuary.
Regular worship services will continue every Sunday in each church as long as it is safe to do so, depending on community COVID-19 infection numbers, and both congregations will continue to observe CDC and Conference safety protocols.
