Peru School Superintendent Resignation Effective Today
District Statement:
Dr. Thomas Palmer resigned as Superintendent of Schools for the Peru Central School District effective October 1, 2021, for personal reasons. Mr. Scott Storms will continue in his role as acting Superintendent of Schools for the present, and the Board of Education will consider both immediate and long-term actions for the Superintendent position at the Board of Education meeting scheduled for October 19th.
The President of the Board of Education, Bonnie Berry stated, “Our educators at Peru Central School District are true professionals. Our faculty, staff and administrators are moving forward for our students, making the many adjustments needed to provide an excellent educational experience during COVID. The focus on getting back to daily, in-person education is everyone’s first priority, and our team continues to pursue excellence as we navigate through these unprecedented times.”
