A front lawn comes to life
Peru – Last summer retired Peru teacher Don Evans moved something very special from his backyard to his front yard at 7 Oakdale Drive in Peru. Fortunately, it’s still in his front yard this summer. The garden doesn’t have vegetables; instead, it’s a fairy garden designed to make magic happen for children, a miniature garden with structures, living plants, tiny houses, chairs, and other things designed to lure magical fairies. Evans constructs the buildings in his basement workshop during the winter months. This year his wife Shirley is assisting him, so the garden’s attractions have expanded.
Don and Shirley invite passersby with small children to stop at 7 Oakdale Dr. and let their imaginations fly!

KUDOS to Don and Shirley! What a wonderful asset for the young ones of Quaker Springs. I am sure that it encourages the kids of the neighborhood to get outside and mingle with other neighborhood families. It helps makes the neighborhood a special place to live.
