Gracie’s Shoe Drive a Resounding Success
Plattsburgh, NY – Healing Grace: Center for Hope and Healing with Funds2Orgs is excited and grateful for the successful completion of “Gracie’s Shoe Drive.” The drive ran from May 1st, 2022 to July 29th, 2022 and collected 163 bags of shoes and $1846 funds raised to continue their mission of supporting grieving families in the North Country. The money raised helps Healing Grace provide a space for families grieving the death of an infant, support through Champ Boxes, and being a voice for those through their grief journey. All donated shoes will now be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school.
“The people of the North Country once again came together to support our mission and make a global impact. We are so thankful for this continued support and we strive to provide a safe, accepting and loving space to all that are on this healing journey.,” said Sarah Munn-Wojtaszek, founder and executive director.
Healing Grace: Center for Hope and Healing was founded in July 2020; A federally recognized 501(c)3 with a mission to walk with those that are grieving to find healing and to learn to live again after the loss of a baby or pregnancy with a vision to become a full grief center for all those that have lost a loved one. Healing Grace is a safe and accepting space to all that know grief.
