Amtrak’s Adirondack returns to the North Country
April 3, 2023 – After its three-year absence, local officials and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik greeted Amtrak’s “Adirondack” back to Plattsburgh. Amtrak suspended service at the beginning of the pandemic. The media took advantage of the opportunity to interview Congresswoman Stefanik regarding several national issues.
The officials speaking included Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Gary Douglas, Congresswoman Stefanik, Amtrack President Roger Harris, Plattsburgh Mayor Chris Rosenquest, Town of Plattsburgh Supervisor Michael Cashman, and Janet Ho, NYS Department of Transportation Assistant Commissioner for Finance and Integrated Modal Services. Clinton County leadership had a meeting in progress; therefore, they could not attend.
