School Street sidewalk construction contract will be awarded this month
By John T. Ryan
The Peru Town Board meeting of July 26, 2010 had a seventeen item agenda. The Board:
- Set August 31, 2010 at 10 a.m. as a bid opening date for the School Street sidewalk construction contract. A change in engineering plans required redelivery of bids.
- Will review copier information submitted by three suppliers and plans to reach a purchase decision at its August 9th meeting. The copier will cost under $10,000.
- Set August 18th as the date for a noise ordnance/sidewalk ordinance workshop. Responsibility for sidewalk maintenance, noise complaints and decibel standards are primary issues.
- Passed a resolution to purchase a fire alarm system for the town hall. A security protection system will not be purchased at this time.
- Will review insurance on the Heyworth/Mason Park building. Supervisor Glushko will research town insurance policies to ensure that the building is appropriately covered.
- Will be looking into furnishing a port-a-potty at the Little AuSable River Park Gazebo. Sunday night concert-goers have asked why one is not available. Supervisor Glushko expressed concern over possible vandalism to any port-a-potty being placed at this site.
- Conducted an Executive Session for personnel issues.
