This month’s K of C Spaghetti Dinner Canceled
Peru – Peru Knights of Columbus Council 7273 canceled its Saturday, January 22nd. COVID concerns forced the cancelation. Another dinner will be scheduled in February. Look for a news update on that meal.

Time to Enjoy Great Spaghetti Again
Peru – Peru Knights of Columbus Council 7273 will host a take-out-only spaghetti dinner accompanied by salad, bread, and dessert on Saturday, January 22nd at the St. Augustine’s Parish Center from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. $10 (Adults), $5 (15 and under). COVID-19 has limited Knight’s fund-raising. Your support will be very much appreciated.

Dollar General aiming to reopen Wednesday
Story Update 01/11/21 at 9 a.m. The store’s new manager Dawn Andrews said the store will reopen Wednesday, not Tuesday. Goods sold in the freezers and refrigerators will not be available until at least this weekend. All frozen and refrigerated goods are being totally restocked. Peru Dollar General is still closed
Peru Dollar General Update – As of January 10th the Peru Dollar General store remains closed. Only one of the two non-working HVAC units has been repaired or replaced according to the Peru Codes office. The Peru Gazette is awaiting further news from the Dollar General Public Relations office.

Celebrating Christ’s Birth
Peru – This morning and afternoon St. Augustine’s clergy and parishioners began preparing the church to celebrate Christ’s birth. They extend a warm welcome to celebrate the Nativity of The Lord with them on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Friday, December 24th at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 25th at 10 a.m.

The Town of Peru Water & Sewer Department will be closing Birchwood Drive between McDonald & School Street, today Monday, December 20th til approx 4 pm to fix a water line break. There will be NO through traffic including Emergency vehicles during that time period.
