Peru’s town highways cost just over $1.5 million annually

Highway maintenance and construction costs are always a significant part of any town’s budget.  The Town of Peru’s highway budgeted spending increased at an annual average of 4.4% over the past 5 years.  The 2013 Highway Department’s budget will be developed during October Town Board workshops.

Ryan The Town Board’s July 23, 2012 included projections of beginning and completion dates on several important projects.  All board members and Town Attorney Donald Biggs were in attendance. The Water Quality/Sewer System Improvement Project bids are scheduled to be opened on August 10, 2012. 

VIOLATION NOTICE

The Town of Peru has to sample quarterly for total trihalomethanes and haloacetic acids to comply with the disinfection by-products rule for E.P.A. and New York State. Test results for the 2nd quarter of 2012 exceeded the allowable maximum contaminant levels.

Local landowners express concern over new Zoning Law

Town Parks declared “No Smoking” areas and continued progress on the Heyworth Mason Park
