60 mph winds and snow forecast

Monday 1/27/25 – 3:31 p.m. NWS Burlington Gusty winds, up to 60 mph locally, will continue tonight through 9 PM as an arctic front approaches the region. Snow showers will move into the area beginning around 5 PM, with heavier snow and embedded snow squalls likely between midnight and 5 AM. #NYwx #VTwx

Snow is likely from this evening into tomorrow morning. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous for portions of northern New York. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

1/20/24 – 5 a.m. Starting today, you’ll notice noticeably colder temperatures. These cold temperatures, with wind chills of -5 to -15 F, will last through Thursday morning before temperatures return to normal next weekend. If you’re spending time outside, please be sure to dress accordingly!

National Weather Service – Burlington-  Heads up! Temperatures will turn very cold Monday onward, with wind chills below zero throughout Vermont and northern New York. The mountains will be especially cold. Anyone planning to recreate outdoors should take precautions against the extreme cold.

Rainfall brings Lake Champlain back to near normal levels

National Weather Service Burlington North Country Rain Totals

NWS tallied up the rain from the past two days. Most rain fell along Route 11, causing widespread flooding in the difficult-to-flood St. Lawrence Valley. The Little Salmon River at Bombay reached a record crest before flatlining from debris, besting March 31st, 1998.
